Conquer South Africa’s highest peak at 3,450 whilst taking in the best of the Central Drakensberg in the process. Starting at Giant’s Castle Hikers Parking, this hike takes a different approach to the usual Mafadi summit, and takes in some of the finest Drakensberg valleys and summits along the way.  At 50km and 2,750m ascent over 3 nights and 4 days, this is a hike for experienced trekkers. We will take the first day fairly easy up and along to Bannerman’s Hut where we will have an evening of relative Berg comfort. On day 2 we climb up the magnificent Bannermans Pass and traverse along the top (via Popple Peak) to a scenic camp on the edge of the escarpment overlooking Injesuthi. Day 3 starts with  a morning trek up to Mafadi (without packs) and then a descent down the famous Judges pass in the afternoon. Finally, Day 4 is a fairly easy amble back passed Bannermans and down to the finish.
